reverie

Had we dreams together,
And moved hand in hand,
Fingers crossed, steps equal,
Equated the world in eyes
and mind.
And led chivalrous battle
Head high, arm in arm.
Never we looked back,
And considered
Mean men's words.
The scornful eyes,
Disdainful whimper
Chided us;
Future uncertain
Immoral wrecks.
Yet never did we
Engage in earthly pleasures
Fell a prey to purple treat.
Beyond the green hills,
Away from blue horizon,
We walked away
To weave miracles,
Of spectral domain,
And celestial sheen.
